A Receiving General Assistant is responsible for physically checking goods received by matching the quantities received with the quantities on the system. As a General Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping our distribution operations run smoothly. Your willingness to work hard and contribute to our team effort will make a big difference in our distribution process. This position reports directly to the Inbound Supervisor or Clerk, and Inbound Manager and will be required to work different shifts across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and Public Holiday.

What you’ll do
This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.
- Unload goods by operating a forklift if required.
- Ensure that quantities are correct by matching the physical quantities offloaded with the quantity on the delivery documentation and the quantity ordered.
- Visually inspect delivered goods for damages and correctness.
- Conducting relevant Food Safety Temperature Checks as per the FSMS in the case of refrigerated deliveries.
- Report any discrepancies
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedure, rules, and regulations.
- Handle heavy lifting, moving products as needed.
- Build and maintain product knowledge to assist with accurate picking and packing.
- Keep track of inventory and report any shortages or damages.
- Operate a scanner to track and record inventory movements.
