Job Summary
The Front Office BTB team in IB Markets Technology is looking for a Software Developer to apply critical thinking & problem-solving skills to contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle & quickly produce well-organized, optimized, and documented source code to deliver high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
Job Description
Key critical skills and experience required:
- Relevant B-Degree in Computer Science preferred but not essential if minimum requirements of experience & practical application are evident.
- Min 5 years of development experience in Python, C# 4.5 and up, .Net core, C++, MS SQL, XSLT
- Technical skills: Software Design and Development, Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, Release Management
- Financial Markets / Mathematical Finance experience
- Relevant Market Risk Product knowledge
- Ability to identify, solve problemss, and build solutions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholders management skills
- Ability to perform in a challenging and dynamic environment
Advantageous:
- Experience in Front Arena (or equivalent system) development/consulting projects
- Experience in: Front Arena AEF: ACM, AEL, ADFL, ASQL
- Investment Banking / Capital Markets IT domain experience
- Functional skillsIIn-depth understandingng of asset classes such as equity, Fixed Income, Credit, FX, their valuation models and product lifecycle, Financial Risk Management, Regulatory and risk reporting, tradng ,and Position management.
- Knowledge of FA components such as PRIME, ADS, AMB, AMBA, ATS, AMWI, PACE, APS, AFG-AMB, SWIFT adapters, Adaptiv Docs, etc.
Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle including
- Evaluate analysis, problem definition, business requirements, and solution development & provide recommendations to enable the operational feasibility of solutions
- Quickly produce well-organized, optimized, and documented source code to deliver technical solutions
- Ensure designs & solutions support the technical organization principles of self-service, repeatability, testability, scalability & resilience
- Apply general design patterns and paradigms to deliver technical solutions
- Support the development of CI / CD Pipelines (authoring & supporting CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins / similar tools and deploying to multi-site Kubernetes environments – supporting and managing your applications to production)
- Use & configure modern observability techniques leveraging e.g. aggregated logging via ELK stack, metrics via Prometheus / Grafana / NewRElic, and tracing using Zipkin/Jaeger
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting e.g. Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes
- Debug existing source code and polish feature sets.
- Work with integrated teams and other developers to improve and evolve technical products and services.s
- Align all application development &developments to Group Architecture & Infrastructure guidelines.
- Provide input to project & program teams (when required) to plan & manage the development lifecycle e.g. releases, risk management, testing, integration,e tc.
- Conduct reviews, performance monitoring & ongoing optimizationn,n and maintenancofon applications
- Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies and development practices and continuously evolve existing knowledge &skillsn in preparation for cross-domain and other experiences e.g. Secure Side, Testing, Infrastructure solutions,e tc.
