Job Title: SAPS Cleaner

Overview: The South African Police Service (SAPS) Cleaner plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of police stations, offices, and other facilities managed by SAPS. This position is essential to ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for both police personnel and the public. As a SAPS Cleaner, you are responsible for executing a wide range of cleaning tasks with precision and attention to detail, contributing to the effective operation of the police service.

LOCATION: Office of the DNC: Crime Detection, Head Office, Pretoria
LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: R131 265 per annum
REFERENCES: DNC05/09/2024

Generic Requirements

  • Applicants must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post;
  • Be a SA Citizen;
  • Be proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English;
  • Must have no previous criminal / departmental convictions or criminal / departmental cases pending;

Additional Requirements

  • A Grade 10 or higher qualification will serve as an added advantage;
  • Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills;
  • Be able to read and write;
  • Must have the ability to operate elementary machines and equipment;
  • Willing to work extended hours when necessary

Core Functions: SAPS: Cleaner

  • Performing routine tasks such as dusting, polishing furniture and floors;
  • Removing refuse bags;
  • Mopping of all tiled flooring; Cleaning bathrooms, kitchenware and utensils;
  • Safekeeping and handling of a variety of cleaning materials.
