You can check the status of your SASSA payment and application online in a few different ways. Let me explain each method I tried. Before you can check your status, make sure that you have two items:

Using Your ID and Mobile Number

• Your South African Identification Number
• The mobile number that you entered in the SASSA application.

Follow the steps below to verify it.

• Navigate to the sassasrdgrant.co.za form at the top of the page.
• Please enter your South African ID card number and mobile phone number.
• Click the “Check Status button.”
• You will see your status immediately below the form.

Check Status Via Moya App

Moya App is another way I check the status of my SRD applications. The app can be downloaded without using data.

After downloading the Moya App, you won’t need the internet to access your account. Follow these steps:

• Install the Moya app from the Play Store. (This requires internet access).
• Once the app has been downloaded, select “SASSA GRANT” from the tab “Discovery.”
• Click on the “Status of the Application. “
• Click the Submit button after entering your mobile number and ID.
• Your status is displayed immediately on the screen after clicking the Submit button.

How to Appeal or Request Reconsideration

If your application has been rejected, you can file an appeal. You can also appeal if your application is rejected by the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA) within 90 days.

Filing an Appeal

1. Visit the DSD website via link https://srd.sassa.gov.za/appeals.

Checking Appeal Status

To find out the status of your appeal, follow the instructions below.

1. Visit the reconsideration status check page at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration.
2. Enter your South African ID number and the phone number associated with your request for reconsideration.
3. You will receive your OTP on the registered phone number.
4. Enter the OTP code on our site.
5. Your status will be displayed on the screen.

Reinstating Your SASSA Grant

If you have financial difficulties but canceled your SRD before due to an improvement in finances, it is possible to reinstate the grant.

1. Official Sassa website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reinstate.
2. Enter your South African ID number and phone number.
3. Click “Send Pin” to verify the OTP.
   1. These are the reasons you can use to get reinstated. Incorrect cancellation
   2. No longer do you need to earn income
   3. Other.
4. Confirm your reinstatement request.

SASSA can review your reinstatement request for 7-14 days. Once it is approved, you will receive a notification.

• Text messaging is available on most mobile phones.
• Enter the text “SASSA (ID number).” The ID number must be your valid South African ID.
• This message can be sent to 082 046 8553.
• Your current grant status will be sent to you in a reply.
